Hi, I'm just some guy. I created this site because I wanted a place where I could write about the things that interest me. It's also a place where I can track the movies/shows I'm watching and books I'm reading. Over the last ten years, I've gotten tired of big platform social media like Facebook and the cesspool Xwitter. I've recently discovered the fediverse, the indieweb movement, and much more, so I've been slowly migrating in that direction. I believe in digital sovereignty, right-to-repair tech, and digital privacy. If I'm not listening to the Wonders of Web Weaving podcast or watching horror movies and The Office reruns, I'm probably cooking, relaxing in the yard, or taking my dog for a walk. Thanks for taking the time to check out my about page and don't forget to leave an entry in my guestbook to let me know you were here!

Oh, and since my first guestbook comment was a complaint that I vibecoded this site, allow me to be clear up-front: I use Claude Code to build this site. Previously, I used WordPress but I wanted something much less bulky, so I opted for using Astro. As much as I wanted to learn to build my own pages from scratch, I prioritized having a place to post actual content over waiting months for me to build this myself. If that bothers you, it'd be polite for you to keep that to yourself and head to a different site.

By the way, here's how to connect with me:
admin@someguysblog:~$ cat links.txt
β†’ someguysblog.net/rss.xml // no algorithm required
admin@someguysblog:~$ _
ps: Don't get confused by my crazy post category names. I was feeling creative and may not stick with them long-term. For now, I think they're perfect!
